Regina Vukson

Senior Risk Management Consultant

Regina assists clients in identifying and managing real or potential exposures to loss in the areas of professional liability, general liability and, where included in policy, employment practices. Her duties include development of risk management education, analysis of liability claims and sentinel events, and the evaluation of systems and regulatory compliance to decrease liability in health care. Regina’s expertise includes risk assessment for the specialty areas of Emergency Services, Perioperative Services and Critical Care.

Regina received her Associate in Science in Registered Nursing from Fresno City College in Fresno, California, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from University of Phoenix in Fresno, California. Regina joined Optima in March 2003. Prior to joining Optima, she worked as a registered nurse for ten years in Intensive Care at a large teaching tertiary care hospital and an additional ten years as a professional in hospital Risk Management, Performance Improvement, Quality and Patient Safety.

Regina maintains licensure and certifications as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM); Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ); and Registered Nurse in both California and Nevada (RN).

Regina has professional affiliations with the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM), presenting "Grievance: It’s Not Just a Complaint" at the 2006 Annual Conference. She is a past Board member and President 2005-2006; Communications Chair 2003-2004 and Secretary 2002-2003 for the Northern California Society for Healthcare Risk Management (CSHRM), and also holds membership in the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), the California Association for Healthcare Quality (CAHQ) and the Southern California Association for Healthcare Risk Management (SCAHRM).
