Stephanie Turner

Senior Vice President, Risk Management Services

Using her skills as a manager, consultant, author, educator, researcher, facilitator, and program developer, Stephanie Turner has been assisting health care businesses in various capacities for over 30 years. Since moving into the insurance industry, she has worked as a risk management consultant, providing practical recommendations and education for identifying and mitigating risks associated with the health care industry. Her current role as Senior Vice President includes assessing the risk mitigation needs of the CHI program and managing the resources available to CHI members through Optima Healthcare Insurance Services.

She started her health care career as a medical technologist, then moved into Infection Control, Patient Relations, Safety, Quality Management, Review Services, Medical Staff and Risk Management. While working for health care providers, Stephanie was director of various departments, with most of her time spent with Medical Staff Services and Risk Management.

Stephanie graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor's degree in Science, has received numerous certifications in specialty fields, is a member of several professional associations including ASHRM, and has authored articles on risk management topics.

Some of the highlights of her professional career include receiving a commendation from JCAHO for the development of one of the first comprehensive small hospital Infection Control programs, being the recipient of a grant from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for enhancing rehabilitation services, being selected as a delegate for a professional exchange in China and leading a professional exchange in South Africa which included co-chairing seminars in Johannesburg and Capetown on cost-effective health care.

In her free time, Stephanie enjoys traveling overseas, outdoor activities, cooking, and reading.
