Risk Management Role with Claims Management Services

The frequency and severity of claims provides the baseline for the choices of Risk Management activities provided to CHI owners.

Optima Risk Management works closely with Claims Management Services to extract as much information as possible on the scope of claims activities so that:

  • Risk Management Consultants can intervene as soon as possible with the CHI owner on mitigation strategies for immediate implementation.
  • Lessons learned can be shared with other owners.
  • Risk Management resources are spent where they count the most.

To accomplish these goals, Optima Risk Management will review claim files and loss runs, call the Optima Claims Specialist about specific concerns, invite Optima claims staff to education programs with owners, meet with Optima claims staff periodically for round table meetings on issues, obtain Optima claims staff input on publications on risk issues, participate with Optima claims in service team meetings with owners, and work with Optima claims staff to improve accuracy of Risk Management coding of claims files.
